Before you book

Intake and conflict review come first.

Complete the intake form before you choose a time. Your appointment is not confirmed when you pick a slot — the firm confirms it by email after reviewing your intake and completing a conflict check. Please do not include Social Security numbers, account numbers, or confidential details on the form.

Booking does not create an attorney-client relationship. If you retain the firm, a separate written engagement agreement is required. Nothing on this page is legal advice. Stephen C. Aertker, Jr. is licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi only, and the firm’s office is at 229 N. Vermont Street, Covington, Louisiana 70433.

The consultation fee is a flat $250, payable to Aertker Legal, LLC. After your intake is reviewed and the conflict check is complete, you will receive an invoice with a payment link; you may also pay by check or by card at the meeting. This page does not collect payment. There are no additional costs or expenses for the consultation itself. If the firm cannot meet with you, the fee is refunded in full.

Personal injury and medical malpractice consultations are free. In those matters the firm works on a contingency fee — no attorney’s fee unless there is a recovery. Costs and expenses are advanced by the firm and repaid from any recovery; if there is no recovery, you may remain responsible for costs and expenses. The fee and the handling of costs are set out in a written agreement before the firm is hired.

Start with intake.

Completing intake first is what lets the firm confirm your time. It takes a few minutes.

Choosing a time holds it — it does not confirm it. The firm confirms your appointment by email once your intake and conflict check are complete. If you have not started intake, begin the intake form first.
